| Furniture |
| If the session has less than
twenty people, set the tables and chairs in a standard "U-shape"
configuration, preferably with the entrance door at the base of
the "U"
If easels are used, place them at the
opening of the "U"
|
 |
 |
If the session has between
20-50 people, set the tables and chairs in rounds of eight.
If easels are used, place them at the front of the room, with
the entrance door at the back of the room.
If multimedia is used, place the screen
at the front left or center of the room, and a small table for
the laptop to be placed in a non-conspicuous place in the room.
I bring my own laptop (Sony Vaio) and wireless remote.

While my preference will always
be rounds, your room size may dictate a classroom style arrangement
where the tables and chairs are set in rows.
If the session has more than 100 people, you will need a riser
so the participants can see what is happening in the front of
the room. When setting up the riser:
- The distance from the first row of
seats/table to the riser should be no more than 10 feet.
- The ideal riser height for audiences
of up to 200 people is 6" to 12". For larger audiences
(more than 200 people), the riser should be 12" to 24"
in height.

Easels,
Chart Paper, Tape and Markers
- My preference is to have a flat wall
at the front of the room to pre-post chart paper for easy
use. But I recognize not all rooms are configured this way!
So two easels with chart paper is lovely. I use any kind of
paper you give me…I'm not that picky!
- I am picky about tape used to post
the chart paper. I will not use masking tape. Instead, I use
3M drafting tape so as not to destroy the walls. If you are
sensitive to this issue, you may want to provide 3M Post It
Charts, or static cling sheets.
- I bring my own markers - Mr. Sketch
watercolor markers that do not bleed through the chart paper.
They smell nice too!
Multimedia
When multimedia is used, I bring my own
PC laptop (Sony Vaio) and a remote mouse. I will be at the venue
one hour prior to the start time to ensure a solid connection
between my equipment and your in-house equipment. When all else
fails, I will have a back-up floppy to use with your equipment
OR overhead transparencies (so it would be helpful to have an
overhead projector available just in case!).
Sound System
- For groups larger than 50, it is helpful
to have a microphone. For groups larger than 100, it is a
necessity. My preference is a wireless microphone, preferably
a handheld AND a lavalier, but if only one is available, the
handheld will do just great!
- For larger sessions, we may pre-position
microphones on a stand within the group.

| Writing
Materials |
- For all sessions, I will provide a
handout in the form of an agenda, tip sheet or guidebook.
For facilitated events; however, you may want to provide extra
writing paper for the chronic note-takers!
- If the session warrants an evaluation
form to solicit feedback, Kristin has a form, or you may use
your own in-house form - whichever you prefer.
- You may want to provide a writing
instrument such as a pen or pencil for them to take notes
with!
